Rev. Lawrence Gaius Dabill

Rev. Lawrence Gaius Dabill, 90, of Memphis, Tenn., passed away Wednesday at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Mattoon, Wis., to the late Floyd Newton Dabill and the late Mary Louise Nickel Dabill.

The Rev. Dabill was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the U.S., Philippines, Korea and Panama. He was a member and associate pastor of New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Memphis, Tenn.

The Rev. Dabill was an ordained minister and pastored churches in Western Pennsylvania. He enjoyed walking, driving, reading and puzzles and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by one son, Gary Dabill, of Monessen, Pa.; two daughters, Barbara Kelley, of Bartlett, Tenn., and Margaret Dabill, of McAdoo, Pa.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Joseph Dabill, of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Phoebe Showers, of Sarasota, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Dabill, who died Aug. 9, 1999; his second wife, Irene J. Dabill, who died Dec. 1, 2013; four sisters; and one brother.

DABILL — Friends of Rev. Lawrence Gaius Dabill, who died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Leon Blaise of First Nazarene Church officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jesus Film Project (started by Campus Crusade for Christ), 100 Lake Hart Drive, Orlando, Florida.
