Flecken pleads guilty, sentenced to probation, community service
The case of a Butler High School alumnus allegedly making online threats against the district ended with him pleading guilty to harassment and being sentenced to probation and 20 hours community service.
Bryan Flecken, 28, of Bridgeville, Allegheny County, was initially charged with two counts of terroristic threats, one a charge of generally making threats and the other a charge of posting particular threats against the school.
Flecken was arrested by South Fayette police after an incident Feb. 16 in Allegheny County, in which he allegedly made threatening posts against Butler schools in a conversation on Facebook, following a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, where a 19-year-old gunman killed 17 people.
Flecken ultimately pleaded guilty to harassment in a plea agreement with the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office, his lawyer, Giuseppe Roselli said.
