Judge McCune and Judge Doerr switch caseloads
With Judge Marilyn Horan leaving for a federal appointment, two Butler County judges are once again switching roles in a swap that will reverse a similar caseload exchange that happened at the beginning of the year.
President Judge Thomas Doerr took on Horan's civil cases on Oct. 1 after working on the criminal side since early January. And Judge Timothy McCune will now work on criminal cases. The switch returns the two judges to similar positions they were in last year.
Doerr has been a judge in county court since 1992 and was named president judge in August 2000. McCune previously served as the district attorney for the county, before being confirmed to the bench in 2006.
“I'm happy to be going to civil court,” Doerr said on Wednesday. “I've been elected to serve and I'll do whatever's needed of me.”
