Eagle Scout project aids VOICe
MIDDLESEX TWP — Zachary Pendarvis, 16, of Middlesex Township earned his Eagle Scout designation by rebuilding a shed last fall at a Victims Outreach Intervention Center facility.
Zachary, the son of Christy Pendarvis, and several fellow scouts from Mars Troop 400 replaced the siding and roof on an old shed and installed new doors and a loft.
VOICe houses victims of domestic violence who have escaped their abusers and provides other services for victims.
Zachary persuaded two other scouts to perform their Eagle projects at VOICe facilities.
“I'm very proud that my son chose VOICe to give back in our local community, because they have provided services to so many families in Butler County for free,” Christy Pendarvis said.
Zachary's grandfather, Steve Love of Cranberry Township, encouraged and participated in Zachary's scouting career since he joined Cub Scouts as a small child.
