David J. Toomey Jr.
David J. Toomey Jr., 81, of Richland Township, Gibsonia passed away on Saturday morning in the comfort of his home, with his family at his side.
Born May 17, 1937, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late David J. Sr. and Emma Kellar Toomey.
Dave was a truck driver for West Penn Laco in Millvale.
He attended the Valencia United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mars Rod and Gun Club and the Lakevue Racquet Club.
He loved his garden, was an avid gardener, enjoyed running and trips to Amish country. But mostly, he loved the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Marion Coon Toomey, whom he married on April 12, 1958; a son, Brian (Sheryl) Toomey of Valencia; his grandchildren, Zackary R. (Sara) Toomey and Lacey Jade Toomey (Larry) Crawford; his great-grandchildren, Claire, Norah, Larry Jr., Lindyn, Kyleigh and Taylor; a brother, Donald (Rita) Toomey; and a sister, Daina (David) Foerst; and his nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the Allegheny Health at Home Hospice and Dr. Robert Gluckman and the staff at Hillman Cancer Center at Passavant Hospital.
