Joseph Lucovich Jr.
Joseph M. “Joe” Lucovich Jr., 91, of Worthington, passed away Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Struthers, Ohio, the son of Joseph M. Lucovich Sr. and Josephine (Matilja) Lucovich.
Joe was a lifelong resident of Armstrong County and honorably served in the U.S. Army. He was a mechanic at Moonlight Mushrooms for 23 years, retiring in 1989, but his true love was farming.
Starting at age 14, Joe began working on a neighbor's farm and continued to do so throughout his life.
He loved visiting relatives and traveling with his wife, Zelma. Gardening and woodworking were two of Joe's favorite hobbies, and he also enjoyed listening to polka and country music and was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams.
He cherished the time spent with his family and friends and was especially thankful for his close relationship with his grandson.
Joe's greatest legacy was being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to those who knew him.
Joe will be remembered with love by his daughter, Darla J. (Timothy) Lane of Pittsburgh; grandson, Ryan T. Lane of Pittsburgh, who is a student at Kent State University; brother, Frank Lucovich of Richland Hills, Texas; sister, Mary (William) Majetich of Newbury, Ohio; sister-in-law, Jessie (Clair) Beers of Kittanning; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Zelma M. (McClanahan) Lucovich, whom he married June 24, 1949, and who died Sept. 7, 2010; three brothers: Marion, John and Frank Lucovich; and four sisters: Ruby Krchnavy, Rose Morrow, Elizabeth Logan and Ann Schrecengost.
Lucovich — The family of Joe Lucovich, who died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.Additional visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas E.
