Florence E. Yost

Florence E. Yost, 94, of Butler passed away on Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.

She was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Jesse Floyd Wolfe and the late Annie Margaret Beilstein Wolfe.

Mrs. Yost was a 1942 graduate of Butler High School.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many.

Florence was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she served as a primary Sunday school teacher for many years, and had served in many of St. Mark's various organizations. She also worked with the Butler Meals on Wheels, delivering food for more than 25 years.

She loved to square dance, play cards and travel.

She is survived by her two daughters, Judy D. Diamond of Zanesville, Ohio, and Janice M. (Robert K.) Hutchison of Butler; her son, Paul W. (Jennifer Karenbauer and Daniel) Yost of Butler; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Helen I. Taggart of Slippery Rock, and Ruth O. McCoy of Salem, Ohio; and one brother-in-law, Marlin D. Sarvey of Prospect.

Florence is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton William Yost, whom she married on Sept. 27, 1942; a sister, Myrtle I. Sarvey; and a son-in-law, Ed Diamond.

YOST — Friends of Florence E. Yost, who died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Additional viewing will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.Private burial will take place in the Gruenwald Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W.
