Donald B. Levesque
Donald B. Levesque of Mars succumbed to cancer surrounded by his family and closest friends on Oct. 16.
Born Dec. 11, 1936, in Fall River, Mass., he was the son of the late Lionel and the late Lauretta Menard Levesque.
After graduation from Prevost High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Seville, Spain. Afterward, he also served as a member of the National Guard.
Upon completion of his military service, Donald joined Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Conn., where he was employed for 32 years in both inspection and procurement departments.
Following his retirement, he and his wife, Carole, moved to Mars to be near their daughter. For a while, he worked part-time at Thorn Hill Printing in Cranberry Township.
A kind and generous man, Donald volunteered his time with a group known as Lizzy's Bikes, which provided bicycles to children of economically disadvantaged families in the area. Don loved all sports, but baseball was his passion and the New York Yankees and Pirates were his favorite teams.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carole A. Levesque; and his brother, Leonard Levesque.
Don is survived by his daughter, Lee Parsons of McCandless Township and her husband, David; two grandchildren, Jonathan Ptachcinski and his wife, Aylea, and Rachel Ptachcinski; two great-grandchildren, Brea and Annalise Ptachcinski; a sister, Doris Michaud; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff on the sixth floor of Passavant Hospital for their loving care and support during his final days.
