Dorcas G. Parsons Benge
Dorcas G. Parsons Benge, 91, of Cabot passed away Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.
She was born May 20, 1927, in Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of the late Seth C. Galbraith and the late Emma Rosehart Galbraith.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Butler.
Dorcas received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Taylor University in Upland, Ind.
She loved her grandchildren, traveling, sewing and crocheting, and was a dedicated church volunteer.
Dorcas is survived by her son, Jeffrey G. (Mary Patricia) Parsons of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Wendy S. Petrakos of Pittsburgh, and Pamela J. (Timothy) Flynn of Slippery Rock; six grandchildren, Meaghan M. Parsons, Kenneth A. Foran, Aislinn R. Foran, Fiona E. Foran, Ma'ire E. Flynn and Grace K. Flynn; one sister, Esther G. (Dean) Kroh of Cabot; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Parsons, whom she married on Feb. 9, 1952, and who passed away on Dec. 10, 1984; her second husband, Robert E. Benge, whom she married on Oct. 22, 2005, and who passed away on Sept. 16, 2016; two brothers, Seth C. Galbraith Jr. and David S. Galbraith; and one sister, M. Ruth Walborn.
BENGE — Friends of Dorcas G. Parsons Benge, who died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
