Frances G. Briggs

Frances G. Briggs, 89, of Cabot passed away Sunday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born May 19, 1929 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Robert B. Gibson and Helen Sheets Gibson.

Fran was a kindergarten and first grade teacher at Penn Elementary, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of Nixon United Methodist Church.

She was a former president of the Butler YWCA, former secretary of the Friends of the Saxonburg Area Library and the Saxonburg District Woman's Club.

She enjoyed quilting, attending all her grandsons' sporting events and traveling with friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert A. (Kathie) Briggs of Saxonburg, and Scott W. (Sue) Briggs of Valencia; her daughter, Barbara Briggs of Cabot,; five grandchildren, Andrew (Dana) Briggs, Wes (Brooke) Briggs, Rob (Jenn) Briggs, Kristina (Ryan) Perry and Nick Briggs; six great-grandchildren, Rocco, Beau, Tori, Zoey, Isla and Brady; and one nephew, R. Byron Gibson III, of Chesapeake, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Briggs who passed away on April 19, 2012; and one brother, Robert B. Gibson Jr.

BRIGGS — Friends of Frances G. Briggs, who died on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev.
