Police investigate 28-year-old found dead in city
Authorities are investigating the death of a 28-year-old man at his downtown Butler apartment.
Butler police found the man's body about 10 a.m. at his home in the apartment building at 224 N. Main St., next to Pizza Joe's. Foul play was not suspected and investigators believe the death could be drug-related.
Butler County Deputy Coroner Larry Barr pronounced him dead. An autopsy was conducted Wednesday night but the final results, including cause of death, are pending the toxicology report, Barr said.
The man was reportedly last seen alive around 8 p.m. Tuesday when a friend took him to a store in Butler Township, authorities said.
Another friend went to check on him the following morning and discovered him dead. The friend called 911.
The man was in his bed, authorities said, and the only suspected contraband found was a metal spoon.
A police report was not immediately available.
