25 cars broken into in Middlesex Twp. overnight, police ask residents to be vigilant
MIDDLESEX TWP — Police are encouraging residents to remain vigilant and remember to lock their cars after a series of vehicle break-ins swept the township Thursday night.
About 25 cars were broken into overnight between Thursday and Friday, with thieves taking advantage of unlocked car doors to enter and take valuables. The Middlesex Police Department posted on its Facebook page, alerting residents of the situation and reminding them to lock their car doors.
“Making all residents aware that there were a series of car break-ins overnight,” the post read. “Most of these thefts occurred in the area of Denny Road, including the developments of Weatherburn and BlackBerry.”
Police are still hearing from residents and taking information to investigate the crimes. Officer Bryan Costanzo said the best way to prevent these thefts is for residents to lock their cars when not in use.
