Fire destroys camper home in Parker Twp.

PARKER TWP — Firefighters had to use a 4-wheel drive vehicle to reach a fire at a mobile home on an icy Annisville Road Sunday night.

The woman who lives in the home escaped uninjured, according to Chief Eric Feicht of the Bruin Volunteer Fire Department. The call came in about 5:20 p.m., according to emergency dispatchers.

“It was totally engulfed when we got there,” Feicht said of the home, an older model camper.

The road was frozen over, he said, and a call was put out to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for salt.

“We took Chicora's 4-wheel drive with our squad and some of the Chicora squad,” Feicht said. The rest of the firefighters had to walk the quarter of a mile to the burning structure, he said.

Chicora Volunteer Fire Department along with Petrolia and Parker firefighters assisted. The Emlenton Ambulance also was on the scene.

Feicht said the home is a total loss.

He was notifying the Red Cross to assist the homeowner.
