Esther J. Ryan

Esther J. Ryan, 84, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 15, 1934, in Chicora, and was the daughter of the late J. Floyd and Mary (Lucas) Oesterling.

Esther was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where she belonged to Christian Mothers and was also a member of the Circular Franciscan Order in Herman. She helped with Volunteers against Abuse for 12 years.

Esther had worked in the bakery for Eat'n Park for 16 years and retired from the bakery at Walmart.

Surviving are her daughter, Janice C. (Larry) Hilderbrand of Fenelton; three sons, Lawrence (Susan) Ryan of Beaver Falls, Russell (Cathy) Ryan of Petrolia, and Kenneth (Carol Sue) Ryan of Karns City; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Patricia Ryan of Butler, Blanche Hall of Emlenton, and Elizabeth Ann Karenbauer of Chicora.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Theodore W. Ryan; two sisters; and two brothers.

RYAN — Friends of Esther J. Ryan, who died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
