Pregnant woman injured by own vehicle
CRANBERRY TWP — A pregnant woman apparently knocked her vehicle into gear, causing the car to run over her leg Tuesday.
The accident occurred around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday in the Sheetz parking lot on Freedom Road. According to Sgt. Chuck Mascellino of the township police department, a woman in her 30s, who is about four months pregnant, was getting out of her vehicle, which was still running.
The woman told police she believed she knocked the vehicle into gear, causing it to move. The door knocked the woman down, and one of the tires ran over her foot, Mascellino said.
The woman was transported to a hospital for X-rays, officials said. Mascellino said he did not believe there was any danger to the baby.
