Mercer County State Bank will host a grand opening Tuesday at its new location in Harrisville.

“It’s just kind of a ‘thank you’ to the community for having us,” said Scott Patton, president and chief operating officer for Mercer County State Bank.

Patton said the bank will have an official ribbon cutting Tuesday, but there also will also be drawings throughout the week. He said customers and visitors will find some treats in the lobby.

“They’re happy to have a bank back in town,” he said.

Harrisville has been without a full-service bank since First National Bank closed it 124 S. Main St. location in May, leaving only an ATM behind to service Harrisville residents.

Patton said the community has been supportive, despite setbacks. The bank was originally projected to open in October, but the building for the new bank took longer than expected.
