Shuffle continues in small precincts
The scramble at the county Election Bureau will continue each year until voting centers are instituted.
The county commissioners at their Wednesday meeting voted to approve the request by Shari Brewer, the director of the Elections Bureau, to officially move the Fairview Borough polling place back to the borough building.
Brewer explained that she did not have enough poll workers last year to cover the elections at the borough building, so both the borough and Fairview Township elections were held at the township building.
“This is a prime example of why voting centers would be more efficient for everyone,” said Brewer, who would like to move all voting to school district buildings.
