Mimi M. Owens

Mimi M. Owens, 61, of South Greensburg passed away Monday in Woodhaven Care Center.

She was born Oct. 12, 1957, in Mars, and was the daughter of Barbara Charles and the late Albert J. Ferrari.

She worked as a job developer at Westmoreland County Community College. Mimi had previously taught English as an adjunct professor.

She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with highest honors, receiving a bachelor's in English.

Mimi was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church.

She was also a volunteer and former board member of the Ligonier Valley Railroad Museum.

When her children were young, she enjoyed volunteering with the Cub Scouts and was very involved in the baseball and football programs.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, Chuck Owens; her children, Nathan Owens Sr., Jadyn (Mike) Ulrich and Kyle (Sarah) Owens; her three grandchildren whom she loved being a Nona to, Nathan Jr., Kaitlyn and Amelia Owens; her brothers, Albert Ferrari Jr. and Ron Ferrari; and her sister, Barbara (Ralph) Meliso; and numerous nieces and nephews.

OWENS — Family and friends of Mimi M. Owens, who died Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at KEPPLE-GRAFTFuneral Home,524 N.
