Dorothy Rock Onufer

Dorothy Rock Onufer, 87, of Renfrew, died Friday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice Unit.

Born Sept. 29, 1931, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late George H. Rock and Mary (Betty) Rock.

Dorothy graduated with honors from Butler High School in 1949.

She was a homemaker, was a member of the Meridian Women's Club and St. Michael Greek Catholic Church in Lyndora, where she was also on the pastor advisory council. She had been on the YMCA board of directors and had been secretary/treasurer and supervisor for Connoquenessing Township.

She collected antiques, was an avid reader and enjoyed needle work.

Surviving are her husband of 67 years Anthony “Tony” Onufer, whom she married Jan. 8, 1952; one daughter, Pamela Onufer Mensch of Fairfax Station, Va.; one brother, George L. (Shirley) Rock of Butler; one aunt, Frances Betty of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert G. Rock and Richard A. Rock; her sister-in-law, Lois Maxine Rock; and her son-in-law, Timothy Mensch.

ONUFER — Friends of Dorothy Rock Onufer, who died Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Michael Greek Catholic Church, 610 Hansen Ave., Lyndora. The Rev.
