Mark “Marky Sharky” Fike

Mark “Marky Sharky” Fike, 11, of Butler passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 23, 2007, in Butler, to Ethan Fike and Margaret Kean Fike.

Mark was a fourth grader at Summit Elementary School. He was a member of Cub Scouts Troop 29 and of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mark loved animals of all types, but his “specialty” was bugs and he could catch them all. He also enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two brothers, Ryan and Emmett Fike; one sister, Lyssa Fike; his maternal grandmother, Stephanie Kean; his paternal grandparents, Jody and Donna Fike of Belvidere, Tenn.; his paternal great-grandparents, Fred and Peggy Fike of Economy Borough, and Karl and Marjorie Hook of Bountiful, Utah; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ernest Kean.

FIKE — Friends of Mark “Marky Sharky” Fike, who died Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Additional visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 365 Sawmill Run Road, Butler.Funeral services will be held immediately following at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Rick Barnett officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Rails to Trails, Butler-Freeport Community Trail, www.butlerfreeporttrail.org.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
