John Eugene Colbert, 30, of New Castle is a person of interest in the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend, police said.

KITTANNING — Police are seeking a former boyfriend of a woman missing from the borough for several days.

John Eugene Colbert, 30, of New Castle is considered a “person of interest” in the investigation into the disappearance of Katie Stoner, according to police.

He is wanted for questioning, Kittanning police officer Donald Blose said Monday.

Colbert is described as white, 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 185 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Police said he has a tattoo of the word “loyalty” on his right forearm and another tattoo on his right shoulder.

Anyone with information on Colbert's whereabouts is asked to call borough police at 724-543-1538, or contact 911.

Police said they also are continuing their search for Stoner, 27, of New Castle, who was last reportedly seen about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Blose said Stoner had been staying in Kittanning when she turned up missing.“We're concerned for her safety,” the officer said of the woman. “She's had no contact with family and friends, and that's not like her.”Colbert is an ex-boyfriend of Stoner's, police said. She is white, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 160 pounds. She has blondish brown hair and blue eyes.Police said she has a tattoo on her right ankle that reads, “Daddy's Little Girl.” She also is believed to have a cut on her left eye and burn marks on her wrists.She was last seen wearing a yellow The North Face brand hooded sweat shirt, gray plaid Vans shoes and a black coat with a brown fur hood.Blose said police on Friday received two separate unverified sightings of Stoner in New Castle. She was seen walking in the city in one report and at the Kmart store in the other reported sighting.Anyone with information about Stoner is asked to notify police.

Katie Stoner, 27, of New Castle has been missing since Thursday.
