Stephen “Steve” Curran McGregor
Stephen “Steve” Curran McGregor, 76, of Butler passed away Jan. 31 after a long illness.
Born April 3, 1942, in Parkers Landing, he was the son of the late Gladys Irene Goal.
Steve attended Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler.
He was employed at Pullman Standard until it closed in 1982, and retired from Westinghouse in 2006.
Steve was a true “gear head.” He was a trophy winning drag racer and collected and restored classic Novas.
He belonged to BASMA and the Rodfathers and attended as many car cruises as possible. He organized the Bon Aire reunions and looked forward to the group's monthly breakfasts.
He enjoyed hunting with his son. Most of all, Steve loved his family and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was affectionately known to many as “Papa.” He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Steve leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Ann (Vayda) McGregor; and his children, Kelley McGregor of Butler, and Stephen C. McGregor Jr. of Butler; his grandchildren, Krysta (Nick) Headley, Courtney Ritson McKissick, Sara McGregor and Rachel McGregor; and his great-grandchildren, Nora, Quinn and Mina Headley and Joel McKissick III.
MCGREGOR — Friends of Stephen “Steve” Curran McGregor, who died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Fared Dr., Butler, with Pastor Richard Jenks officiating.Steve will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler.Services have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Steve's honor to Faith Fellowship Alliance Church.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
