Church sponsors prom gown sale

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church, or CCUPC, is hosting its annual “I Found the Gown” sale event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 30 at the church's Fellowship Hall. Long lines are expected to form before 5 a.m.

Attendees can purchase lightly-used prom dresses and wedding gowns for $20 and $50, respectively, as well as prom-type shoes, wraps and jewelry.

Items sold are donated by church members, area businesses and others.

In its 10th year, the event aims to provide girls with the opportunity to purchase clothes for special events, even if they lack the means to buy them at conventional dress and jewelry stores.

The proceeds from the sale will go to the church's mission outreach initiatives, including support for the Victim Outreach Intervention Center, the Pittsburgh Project, Mars Home for Youth, Habitat for Humanity, City View Church and the Giving Tree.

CCUPC is still accepting donations of dresses, shoes, jewelry and purses. Those interested in giving can stop by the church between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

For more information about the sale or to reach out to CCUPC, visit its website at ccupc.org or call 724-776-5310.
