Police warn residents to lock doors

BUFFALO TWP — Lock your car doors.

That's the message Buffalo Township police are telling residents in the wake of a string of recent vehicle break-ins.

Loose change and currency have mainly been stolen during the thefts. But in one case, a handgun was taken.

“We've had over a dozen (vehicle) break-ins in the past two to three weeks,” police Chief Tim Derrigner said Wednesday.

Police believe more than one person is involved. They have no suspects.

“Our advice to residents is, 'Lock your doors and take your personal belongings inside,'” Derringer said. “And if you see or hear anything suspicious, call 911.”
