Home show has best Friday night in 8 years
BUTLER TWP — The long-awaited temperate weather on Saturday afternoon somewhat stifled the turnout at the annual Butler County Home Show, but the event's coordinators weren't worried.
“We had the busiest Friday night we've had in eight years,” said Bernie Caplan of County Home Shows. “We had 100 people in the first hour.”
The event was held on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday at the Family Sports Center off Route 68 West.
Caplan said free admission and a wide variety of vendors are some of the reasons county residents turn out every year, but being an annual event doesn't hurt.
“It's our eighth year, so I think it's kind of entrenched in the community,” said Caplan.
