Nancy J. Swain, 68, of Butler passed away on Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital.

She was born June 25, 1950, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Henry Panei and the late Bessie McCanna Panei.

Nancy graduated from Butler Senior High School in 1968.

She worked as a nursing assistant for Butler Memorial Hospital.

Nancy is survived by two sons, Matthew (Becky) Swain of East Butler, and Mark (Lorena DeJesus) Swain of Butler; five grandchildren, Nevaeh Swain, Morgan Swain, Nathan Swain, Carter Swain and Nick DeJesus; two brothers, Fred Panei of Butler, and Dan Panei of Butler; two sisters, Linda Hinchberger of Butler, and Michele Skarada of Altoona; four nieces; four nephews; five great-nieces; and four great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin L. Swain, who passed away on April 29, 2016; and one niece, Melissa Panei.

SWAIN — Friends of Nancy J. Swain, who died Saturday, March 9, 2019, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Rob Gillgrist officiating.Private burial will take place at a later date.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
