POLICE REPORTS
Thursday — Brittany L. Irvin, 27, of Butler was charged with taking $70 from a vehicle last month on the 500 block of West Jefferson Street.
The victim told police that the money was in the center console May 22 when she gave Irvin a ride, according to court documents. She stopped to get gas and got out of the car, leaving the defendant alone in the vehicle.
Police said the victim recounted that after dropping Irvin off, she discovered the money missing.
Irvin is charged with theft from a vehicle.
Thursday — Police stopped Daniel Morehead, 23, of Butler at 8:45 a.m. at Route 8 for driving an ATV on the road. Morehead fled from officers, driving north on Route 8 into Butler City on Main Street.Morehead was allegedly speeding and ran through multiple traffic lights during the chase.Police said they arrested Morehead after he struck a Butler Township Cruiser and two other vehicles at the intersection of Charles Street at Cedar Street.Police said they determined Morehead was drunk, and he admitted to drinking and using drugs.Morehead is in Butler County Prison and has been charged with fleeing and eluding, DUI and other traffic offenses.Officers, Morehead and residents were not injured.Sunday — Police cited McKenzie P. Lumley, 24, of Tarentum, for careless driving after she crashed her car.Police said they investigated the crash at 2:33 a.m. on Route 8 near the Greater Butler Mart, where Lumley had struck the curb and two large landscape rocks in front of the McDonald's and crossed into the oncoming traffic.Police said Lumley had fallen asleep behind the wheel, but she was not injured.Sunday — Andrew P. Babay IV was cited for his involvement in a two-vehicle crash at 11:28 p.m. at the intersection of New Castle Road and South Duffy Road.Police said Babay failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn from New Castle Road onto South Duffy Road.He struck a vehicle driven by Paige N. Swagger, 22, of Butler, but the drivers were not injured in the crash.
Wednesday — Kimberly M. Logan, 52, of Butler was caught with suspected crack cocaine last month in Butler. She was spotted by task force officers around 6 p.m. May 1 getting out of the rear passenger side of a car and entering a home on Highland Avenue.A short time later, according to court documents, she returned to the car. A city police officer working for the task force made a traffic stop on South Cliff Street near Center Avenue.The defendant allegedly turned over a crack pipe. She was searched and found with a plastic baggie containing what appeared to be crack, documents said.Logan is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
June 3 — Police charged a Lawrence County man with drugged driving in connection with a traffic stop last month in the South Rock Apartments parking lot on Kiester Road. Dillon B. Griffith, 21, of New Wilmington was pulled over around 11:10 p.m. May 16 for not having headlights on.A consent search of the vehicle turned up a vape pen with suspected THC oil in it, according to court documents. Griffith was also allegedly found with a container of suspected marijuana and THC wax.He was subsequently taken to an unspecified hospital for a blood test, which indicated he had marijuana in his system.Griffith is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and a lighting violation.
May 30 — Teresa E. Collins, 33, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a call earlier this month for a driver passed out in a sport utility vehicle at a stop sign in Franklin Township.Police said they found Collins in the driver’s seat of the vehicle May 5 at Isle and Unionville roads. She handed over a bag of suspected marijuana, according to court documents. She also allegedly had a marijuana pipe.She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results allegedly showed she had marijuana in her system.Collins is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, careless driving and failing to notify authorities of a change of address.
