Joseph McFadden

Joseph E. “MO” McFadden, 76, of Slippery Rock passed away peacefully Sunday at home surrounded by his family.

Joe was born April 8, 1943, in McJunkin Hollow, Eau Claire. He was the son of John McFadden and Pearl Dittman McFadden.

Joe was the current apartment manager at 173 Apartment Complex for 30 years. Previously, Joe was employed at Hunter Truck Sales, working in the garage.

Joe enjoyed camping and boating. What brought Joe the most joy in his life was his family and friends. He cherished the time he and his grandchildren spent together.

Joe was well-known for always lending a helping hand to whoever needed it. He touched many lives and always offered support and help. Joe took great pride maintaining the apartments where he and his companion, Dee, lived.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his companion, Dee French of Slippery Rock; and his children, Kimberly J. Umstead and her husband, Todd, of Emlenton, Kevin L. McFadden of Mercer and Barbara M. Anderson and her husband, Robert, of Emlenton.

He is also survived by his three stepchildren, April Lutz and her husband, Ed, of Ellwood City, Clair Jones and his wife, DeAnna, of Pottersville, and David Jones of Ellwood City; and his grandchildren, Lindsey (Justin) Wilson of Virginia, Dustin (Michelle) Holton of Oil City, Tiffany Anderson of Emlenton, Chelsey McFadden of Grove City, Kyle McFadden of Grove City and Samantha McFadden of Grove City.

Joe also leaves behind two great-grandsons, Jesse Hazlett of Hillards and Blaine Wilson of Virginia; nine stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Elton “Sony” Clair McFadden and his wife, Patricia A., of Clintonville, Donald Eugene McFadden and his wife, Donna J., of Boyers, Thomas James McFadden and his wife, Sharon, of Eau Claire, Linda Kay Custer and her husband, Bill, of Boyers, Kenneth Allan McFadden of Boyers, Richard Lynn McFadden of Boyers, John David McFadden of Boyers and Tracy Lynn Link and her husband, Norman, of Boyers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Joseph McFadden II; his niece, Brandy McFadden; and a nephew, David McFadden.

MCFADDEN — The family of Joseph E. “MO” McFadden, who died Sunday, May 12, 2019, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville.

Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Hughes officiating.

Burial to take place at Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
