Two transported to hospitals in Butler and Pittsburgh following Thursday crash
FAIRVIEW TWP. - One man was flown by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital Thursday night following an one-vehicle crash on Petrolia Road in Fairview Township.
The accident happened around 9 p.m. Thursday on Petrolia Road between Fairview and Petrolia.
Chief Charles Barnes, of the Petrolia Volunteer Fire Department, said two men were traveling in a Ford pick-up when the driver lost control on the wet pavement, slid off the road and hit a bank.
One man was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, while the other was flown to to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. The men's conditions were unknown Thursday night.
Barnes said about 15 volunteer fire fighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene of the crash from four departments, including Petrolia, Bruin, East Brady and Karns City.
The road was shut down for more than an hour before being re-opened at 10:15 p.m.
No other details were available Thursday night.
