Butler County's great daily newspaper

Thunderstorms expected throughout Friday and Saturday

While a flash flood warning has expired for the northeastern portion of Butler County, the National Weather Service still has a hazardous weather outlook in effect for the county and surrounding areas. The Butler area is still under the outlook due to the potential for more storms that could lead to isolated flooding into the evening, according to Shannon Hefferan, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.

“Currently there is a line of storms that will be moving into the Butler area that will fall apart,” Hefferan said.

Residents should expect more scattered thunderstorm activity early Saturday afternoon into the evening as a cold front moves in. Residents should also be prepared for the possibility of localized flooding along with these storms.
