John E. Henricks
John E. “Johnny Katt” Henricks, 51, of Karns City passed away on June 6 at UPMC Presbyterian after his brave endeavor to help find a cure for scleroderma.
He was born Feb. 21, 1968, in Butler, and was the son of Patricia Walsh Henricks of Butler, and the late Joseph Henricks.
John was the owner and operator of Henricks Restoration and Remodeling for several years.
He was passionate about music, especially playing the drums in numerous local bands.
Johnny Katt loved spending time as a supportive partner, father and grandfather.
He was an avid sports fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Johnny Katt loved kayaking and skiing.
He is survived by the love of his life for 21 years, Jenifer Baker; three daughters, Breauna Henricks of Butler, Franky Duffield of Prospect, and Lauren Baker of Evans City; five grandchildren; five brothers, David Henricks of Washington, Bill (Sheryl) Henricks of Butler, Tony (Caroline) Henricks of Butler, Vince (Karen) Henricks of Mississippi, and Tom (Lisa) Henricks of Slippery Rock; four sisters, Kate Coradi of Butler, Maggie Henricks of Butler, Mary (Rick) Emery of Butler, and Nancy (Herman) Rushing of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Henricks; and another brother at infancy.
His life was filled with wonderful friends, family and music. Johnny was a selfless, talented and funny man, who will never be forgotten. His last words were “Until the end — strong like bull.”
HENRICKS — Friends of John E. “Johnny Katt” Henricks, who died Thursday, June 6, 2019, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
If sending flowers, the family requests that they are purple.
Private burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Johnny “Katt” Henricks to UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh Scleroderma Center, 3500 Terrace St., Pittsburgh, PA 15261.
