SUMMIT TWP, Lycoming County — A Butler man died in a fiery one-vehicle crash early Friday.

A report by Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said Bryan Edmundson Jr., 27, of Butler was driving a Ford F-250. A passenger, Katie Johnston, 21, of Oregon Hill, also died.

According to the coroner's report, Edmundson and Johnston were pronounced dead at the scene before EMS arrived. Multiple blunt force and burn trauma were listed as the causes of their deaths.

State police of Montoursville are investigating.

Police said Edmundson was traveling westbound on Little Pine Run Road when he failed to negotiate a left turn and struck an embankment. His vehicle caught fire.

Trooper Brian Siebert is conducting the investigation.
