Butler County eligible for some federal funds for July flooding
Butler County is among the areas eligible for federal disaster relief loans, but not for the floods that hit the region hard in early July.
The U.S. Small Business Administration and Gov. Tom Wolf announced Thursday that those in Allegheny County or contiguous counties — including Butler County — are eligible for low-interest loans to repair flood damages. However, the damages had to result from flooding and storms on July 21 and 22, later in the month than the severe flooding that such hit areas as Zelienople and Harmony.
The loans are available for eligible renters, businesses and homeowners.
