Trump reschedules visit to ethane cracker plant
President Donald Trump has rescheduled his trip to Shell Chemicals’ ethane cracker plant in Beaver County for next week after having canceled a visit due to the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, Ohio.
The president will tour the plant in Potter Township on Aug. 13 after postponing his originally planned Aug. 8 visit, White House officials confirmed.
Initially, Trump was expected to make remarks on his administration’s economic initiatives and support for America’s domestic manufacturing and energy production.
However, details of his rescheduled trip have not yet been divulged.
Work is nearing completion on the Pennsylvania Petrochemicals Complex, which is expected to convert ethane to about 1.6 million tons of polyethylene each year. The ethane cracker plant is expected to bring thousands of new jobs to the region.
