Marjorie E. Bailey

Marjorie E. Bailey, 83, of East Brady died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 9, 1936, in Butler, she was the only daughter of Walter L. and June (Mahood) Stevens.

On Sept. 21, 1956, Margie married Elmer R. Bailey. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2010.

Earlier in life, Margie taught kindergarten and then spent the majority of her career in various secretarial positions. Most recently, she worked at Lifesteps in Butler, a job she enjoyed very much.

She was a member of East Brady United Methodist Church, where she organized the church newsletter. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.

Margie enjoyed painting and reading.

She is survived by one daughter, Stacey Slaughenhoupt and her husband, Mike, of Bradys Bend; one son, David Bailey and his wife, Angela D., of Dillsburg, Pa.; and one brother, Calvin Stevens of Karns City.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Megan Furl, Brock, Hannah and Bailey Simpson, Sean, Shane and Logan Slaughenhoupt, and Katherine Adams; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Sean; one granddaughter, Lindsay; and seven brothers.

BAILEY — All services for Marjorie E. Bailey, who died Wednesday, July 31, 2019, will be private and held at the convenience of her family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, East Brady.

Memorials may be made in Margie’s name to the East Brady United Methodist Church, 416 Kellys Way, East Brady, PA 16028.
