Ladies Night Out returns on a hot streak, with increased attendance at each of its events in last three years.

And there are no plans to mess with success for its fourth annual event. Ladies Night Out will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Butler Country Club, 310 Country Club Road, and will feature live music, basket auctions and shopping.

Vendors of apparel, accessories, jewelry, health and beauty products, among other items, will be scattered throughout the venue, and there will be opportunity to eat, drink and mingle.

Last year, the event drew more than 300 women and reached its capacity of 25 vendors, according to Kris Bowser, development specialist for the Butler Health System Foundation.

Bowser said the event has grown in donations, too. She said the 2018 event raised $14,000, after expenses, which grew from $8,000 netted in 2017 and from $4,000 in 2016.

“It's been really great to see the event grow and the positive impact that the people supporting it are having on these cancer patients,” Bowser said.

Bowser said the event will follow much of the structure it had last year, when they implemented a strolling fashion show. The models show off clothing and products by walking around the country club among event participants.

“The models just walk through the crowd,” Bowser said.

Bowser said the night is very relaxed for a fundraiser. She said people can eat first or shop first, and either way it doesn't matter.

“The whole night, you can really go at your own pace,” she said. “You can really do whatever you want.”

The basket drawing will be at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $30 and are available online at www.bhs-foundation.org or inside the Butler Memorial Hospital Cherry Tree Gift Shop.

Through its fundraisers and partners, Butler Health Systems helps provide patients with financial support as well as other supportive programs.

Some partnerships, such as those with Creative Hair Solutions, HairPeace.org and Riding for the Cure produce help in the form of financial assistance. These three organizations partner with Butler Health System to provide wigs or other hair options for patients who are losing their hair from the chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

At the event, participants can purchase a cosmetic bag for a cancer patient taking Styling It Right & Looking Your Best, a program starting Oct. 17 at the Butler Health System Radiation Oncology facility on Technology Drive.

Bowser said other programs involve support groups and mental health help for those undergoing treatment.

“These funds help to keep all of that going,” Bowser said.
