An accident on Interstate 79 near Cranberry Township restricted northbound traffic for more than an hour Tuesday night.

A woman driving a dark-colored sedan crashed into a guardrail around 5:45 p.m. near mile marker 81.4 in the right lane of I-79 north.

According to Cranberry Township firefighters, the driver was the only person in the vehicle. She wore and seatbelt and was not injured.

Cranberry Township EMS and state police also responded to the crash.

Fire police on the scene directed traffic away from the right lane, which was still closed as of 6:30 p.m.
