SENTENCES

Judge Timothy McCune handed down the following sentences Monday:

Eugene F. Ruhl, 66, of Wexford was sentenced to 6 months of intermediate punishment with the first 42 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. Ruhl must also serve 60 hours of community service and pay a $750 fine. Ruhl was charged July 9 and pleaded guilty Oct. 21.

Mark A. Musser, 41, of Butler was sentenced to 40 hours to 6 months in jail for driving under the influence and disorderly conduct. Musser must also pay $800 in fines and serve 60 hours of community service. Musser was charged Oct. 10, 2018, and pleaded guilty June 28.

Steven A. Cline, 33, of Butler was sentenced to 9 to 18 months in jail for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cline was found guilty during a trial Oct. 17. Cline was charged Jan. 8.

Alex A. Grant, 26, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to 6 to 18 months in jail for possession with intent to deliver. Grant was charged June 20 and pleaded guilty Nov. 1. Grant received credit for time already served.

John J. Kukets, 27, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to 5 years of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. Kukets must also serve 100 hours of community service and pay a $1,500 fine. Kukets was charged June 12 and pleaded guilty on Sept. 23.

Anthony D. Smith, 26, of Ebensburg was sentenced to time served to 18 months in jail for criminal trespass — breaking into a structure. Smith was charged Oct. 9, 2018, and pleaded guilty on Oct. 29.

David W. Long, 57, of Braddock was sentenced to 1 year of intermediate punishment with the first 45 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for conspiracy to commit retail theft. Long must also serve 25 hours of community service and pay a restitution order. Long was charged Oct. 9, 2018, and pleaded guilty Sept. 4.

Sarah S. Schoeffel, 40, of Butler was sentenced to 18 months to 5 years in jail for possession with intent to deliver. She received credit for time served. Schoeffel was charged April 13, 2018, and pleaded guilty on Oct. 11, 2018. In a second case, Schoeffel was sentenced to 6 months to 2 years in jail for possession of a controlled substance. Schoeffel was charged April 12, 2018, and pleaded guilty Oct. 11, 2018.

Charles C. Groom, 20, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to 7 days to 12 months in jail for resisting arrest and simple assault. Groom received credit for time served. He must also serve 1 year of probation and 50 hours of community service. He must also pay a restitution order. Groom was charged Oct. 13, 2018, and pleaded guilty Oct. 2.

Carlos D. Eackles, 42, of Butler was sentenced to 1 to 2 years in state prison followed by 3 years of probation for firearms not to be carried without a license and possession with the intent to deliver. Eackles was charged April 21, 2018, and pleaded guilty March 5.

Robert C. Kessler Jr., 50, of Butler was sentenced to 48 hours to 6 months in jail for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. Kessler must also pay $700 in fines and serve 60 hours of community service. Kessler was charged Feb. 4 and pleaded guilty on Oct. 11.

Marrina C. Panza, 23, of Evans City was sentenced to 2 years of probation for conspiracy access device fraud. Panza must also serve 25 hours of community service and pay a restitution order. Panza was charged Feb. 23, 2018, and pleaded guilty Nov. 13.

Ashley M. McCarthy, 27, of Butler was sentenced to 6 months of probation for theft by deception. She was charged March 12 and pleaded guilty Oct. 2. In a second case, McCarthy was sentenced to 6 months of probation for theft by deception. She was charged March 26 and pleaded guilty Oct. 2.

Zhaojun Xie, 29, of Mars was sentenced to 1 year of probation for two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Xie must also serve 25 hours of community service. Xie was charged Sept. 10, 2018, and pleaded guilty Oct. 29.

Robert J. Wilson, 56, of Braddock was sentenced to 1 year of probation for conspiracy bad checks and bad checks. Wilson must also pay a restitution order. Wilson was charged Feb. 27 and pleaded guilty on Oct. 2. In a second case, Wilson was sentenced to 1 year of probation for theft. Wilson must also serve 25 hours of community service and pay a restitution order. Wilson was charged July 25, 2018, and pleaded guilty on Oct. 2.

Lon M. Cooper, 55, of Butler was sentenced to 6 months of intermediation punishment and a $2,500 fine for driving with a license under DUI suspension. Cooper was charged April 29 and pleaded guilty Oct. 29.

Joshua A. Wisniewski, 25, of Sarver was sentenced to 5 years of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Wisniewski must also serve 50 hours of community service and pay a $1,500 fine. Wisniewski was charged April 1 and pleaded guilty Oct. 21.

Crystal R. Hayes, 42, of Homestead was sentenced to 4 to 16 months in jail for two counts of receiving stolen property. Hayes was charged June 24 and pleaded guilty Oct. 29.

Rose M. Comly, 52, who has no known address, was sentenced to time served to 1 year in jail for possession of drug paraphernalia. Comly was charged Nov. 6, 2018, and pleaded guilty Nov. 12. In a second case, Comly was sentenced to time served to 1 year in jail for possession of drug paraphernalia. Comly was charged March 25 and pleaded guilty Nov. 12.

James P. Consolaro, 37, of Springdale was sentenced to 1 year to 23 months in jail for retail theft and driving with a suspended license. Consolaro was charged March 25 and pleaded guilty Nov. 13.

Stephen S. Schweiger III, 27, of Butler was sentenced to time served to 1 year in jail and 25 hours of community service for simple assault. Schweiger was charged March 6, 2018, and pleaded guilty Nov. 13. In a second case, he was sentenced to time served to 1 year in jail for simple assault. Schweiger was charged Jan. 15 and pleaded guilty Nov. 13.

David P. Brickley Jr., 57, of Zelienople was sentenced to 6 months of intermediate punishment with the first 42 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. Brickley must also serve 60 hours of community service. Brickley was charged July 29 and pleaded guilty Oct. 21.

Gavin S. Kelly, 23, of Butler was sentenced to 1 year of probation and 25 hours of community service for terroristic threats. Kelly was charged April 17 and pleaded guilty on Oct. 2.

Jesse James Markovitz, 40, of Bangor, Pa., was sentenced to 6 months to 1 year in jail and 6 months of probation for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was immediately paroled. Markovitz was charged Sept. 26, 2018 and pleaded guilty Oct. 2.

Damian L. Carney, 22, of New Castle was sentenced to 6 months of intermediate punishment with the first 14 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence and careless driving. Carney must pay $1,025 in fines and serve 50 hours of community service. Carney was charged March 19 and pleaded guilty Oct. 2.

Chad M. Collins, 33, of Allison Park was sentenced to 1 year of probation and 25 hours of community service. Collins was charged May 20 and pleaded guilty Oct. 2.

Chris Stubenbort, 30, of Zelienople was sentenced to 5 years of intermediate punishment with the first 60 days in jail for driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a suspended license. Stubenbort received credit for time already served, allowing him to be immediately paroled. Stubenbort must also serve 90 days of intermediate punishment and 150 hours of community service.

Brandon A. Norris, 27, of Worthington was sentenced to 5 years of intermediate punishment with the first 6 months on house arrest for driving under the influence. Norris must also pay $2,500 in fines, serve 100 hours of community service and an additional 90 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
