2 drivers injured in crash on Chicora Fenelton Road
DONEGAL TWP — Two drivers were injured after their vehicles struck head-on along Chicora Fenelton Road on Thursday night.
According to firefighters, one driver, who was in a dark-colored Jeep, was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital with unspecified injuries.
Initially county emergency center reports indicated both drivers were entrapped, however firefighters on the scene said only the driver of the Jeep needed to be removed from the vehicle.
Firefighters said the other driver, who was in a dark-colored GMC truck, was taken by ambulance to an unknown hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Chicora Volunteer Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service were dispatched at around 8:35 p.m. by the county emergency center.
Upon their arrival, crews found both patients in their vehicles, which were in ditches on opposite sides of the road about 50 yards apart.
Chicora Fenelton Road was closed near its intersection with Airport Lane for more than an hour while the scene was cleared.
State police are investigating the crash.
