Police looking for Dollar General robber
BUTLER TWP — Police are searching for an unknown robber who made off with money from the Dollar General store at the Butler Commons shopping plaza Wednesday evening. No one was injured.
The suspect is a white man, possibly in his 30s, who was described as being of average height with a thin face and scruffy beard, Butler Township police said.
The man entered the store around 7:25 p.m. and approached the front counter, where he demanded money from the cash register. He insinuated that he had a weapon in his waistband, but none was seen.
One clerk was at the counter, but there were other employees as well as customers in the store
The robber took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot. He was seen headed east toward North Duffy Road.
The man was wearing a brown Carhartt-style jacket, a white hooded sweat shirt with the hoodie pulled over his head, khaki or tan pants, tan boots and gloves.
Police posted photos of the suspect, taken from a security camera, on the department's Facebook page.
