Clearfield Twp man accused of using local library's Internet for child porn

Adam Groshong

A Clearfield Township man accused of possessing and distributing child pornography was arraigned before District Judge Lewis Stoughton on Tuesday morning.

Adam T. Groshong, 44, remains in the Butler County Prison on a $50,000 bond. He is banned from using the internet.

Groshong, 44, told police he viewed, downloaded and uploaded child pornography using his cell phone while connected to the Butler Area Public Library's internet, according to a police criminal complaint.

Groshong faces felony charges related to both disseminating and possessing child pornography, as well as criminal use of a communication facility, referring to the cell phone he used to collect the images.

Police began tracking Groshong through a July 19 report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children by way of Google.

The tech giant provided information on Groshong through the center's CyberTipline.
