Arlene J. Howryla
Arlene J. Howryla, 84, formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
Born April 1, 1935, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Fernand and Mildred Heilman Fogel.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
Arlene adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed crocheting. In addition, she and her husband were avid bowlers.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Howryla, whom she married April 23, 1955; one son, Richard M. Howryla and his wife, Carol, of Butler; one daughter, Joyce Sheakley and her husband, Baxter, of Butler; one daughter-in-law, Rosemary Howryla, of Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren, Derrick, Emily, Lisa, Jessica, Megan and Marylee; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul D. Howryla, who passed away Oct. 24, 2011; one granddaughter, Lynette Messick; two brothers, Richard Fogel and Kenneth Fogel; and three sisters, Jacqueline DiGiacomo, Gaye Dickey and Bernice Goldinger. Sadly, another sister, Shelley Kutan, passed away on Sunday in Ohio, just five hours after Arlene.
HOWRYLA — There will be no visitation for Arlene J. Howryla, who died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with the Rev. John J. Baver officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
