Police identify teen driver of SUV that flipped over creek in Slippery Rock Twp.

This weekend police identified the teenager who drove the Jeep Grand Cherokee that went airborne Wednesday afternoon on Branchton Road in Slippery Rock Township. They said Mia O. Loos, 19, of Parker was injured in the wreck.

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — State police have identified the teenage driver of a sport utility vehicle that went airborne over a creek Wednesday afternoon in a crash on the 300 block of Branchton Road.

Mia O. Loos, 19, of Parker was injured in the wreck about 3 p.m. just west of Hogg Lane. She was cited for careless driving.

Police said Loos was traveling west when her 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee went of the north side of Branchton Road in Slippery Rock Township. The vehicle then crossed both lanes and spun out, leaving the south side of the road.

The SUV hit a fence, destroying several fence posts and a gate on the Hartzell farm, and became airborne over a small creek, authorities said. The vehicle touched down on its front end and came to rest on its passenger side.

The teen, who was wearing a seat belt, managed to climb out of the sun roof of the badly-damaged vehicle. Police said she suffered apparent minor injuries. She was taken by Slippery Rick Ambulance to Grove City Medical Center.

Slippery Rock volunteer firefighters assisted police at the scene. The Jeep had to be towed.
