Cranberry Twp. resident challenging Metcalfe for Republican primary

Scott Timko

CRANBERRY TWP — A Cranberry Township resident will challenge State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-12th, in the Republican primary race.

Scott Timko, 54, filed paperwork Tuesday with the Pennsylvania Department of State to be on the ballot in the April primary contest. Timko previously announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives to challenge incumbent Rep. Conor Lamb, D-17th.

Timko made no public indication to the filing of his intent to challenge Metcalfe, who has served the district since 1999 and been reelected to his seat nine times.

Metcalfe was most recently opposed in the primary in 2016, when Gordon Marburger challenged him and received 40 percent of the vote.
