Butler teen arrested for armed robbery
A Butler teenager is behind bars on charges in a suspected weekend armed robbery at the Greenview Gardens apartment complex.
City police said 19-year-old Ian F. Zang stole prescription medication and clothing belonging to a 21-year-old man who was in an apartment about 12:40 a.m. Saturday. No one was injured.
Officers later arrested Zang and recovered the reported stolen items as well as a loaded revolver.
District Judge William Fullerton arraigned the defendant on felony charges of robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and theft.
Police said the victim, who called 911 after the alleged holdup, told them that he was in the apartment with an ex-girlfriend when an unknown man came to the door brandishing a pistol.
