<b><em>UPDATE: This report now includes new statewide numbers.</b></em>Local officials released updated numbers for the number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Butler CountyAccording to Jana Panther, a spokeswoman for Butler Health Systems, Butler Memorial Hospital is actively treating 11 in-patients for virus-like symptoms. Of the 11 patients, two are suspected of having COVID-19. Nine people tested positive, with three of the 11 being treated in the ICU.Clarion Hospital is currently treating one confirmed case in the ICU.The number of in-patient cases being treated by the regional hospital dropped by seven overnight, from 18 people being treated in-patient as of Saturday. However the number of patients being treated in the ICU rose by one.As of noon Sunday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported a statewide total of 11,510 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1,493 new cases from the day before.The department also reported 14 additional deaths overnight, bringing the total number of Pennsylvanians who died from the virus to 150.Locally, the health department reported three news cases in Butler County, bringing the total Sunday to 87 positive cases, with still just two deaths.Neighboring Allegheny County reported 605 positive cases and four deaths according to the health department.Based on the report, data for other surrounding counties are as follows: Westmoreland, 147 confirmed cases; Beaver, 84 confirmed cases and six deaths; Lawrence, 23 confirmed cases and 2 deaths; Armstrong, 12 confirmed cases; Mercer, 18 confirmed cases; Clarion, 5 confirmed cases; and Venango, 3 confirmed cases.As of Sunday, there are 304,826 positive cases reported nationwide, including 7,616 deaths.
