Don't adopt, discard pet after pandemic subsides

While we are all at home and trying to fill the hours, many have decided to adopt a pet.

Normally, nothing would make me happier than if every home made room for one of these animals that so badly needs one.

However, I have heard nothing mentioned as to what is going to happen to these family members once life has resumed to normal.

I pray these kind-hearted folks have taken into consideration what they plan to do with their new family member once normal routines resume.

My concern is that a lot of these pets will find their way back to the shelter. If you are debating whether or not to bring a pet into your life, please consider how that pet will fit into that life once you are no longer tethered to your home.

Adopting a pet is a commitment and one that should be taken seriously. I wish you all the best if you are looking for a furry companion. But please, if this is a temporary fix for a temporary situation, step back and make absolute certain that you are making the very best choice for you and more importantly, the animal.
