7:20 p.m. Sunday — Stephen M. Richards, 62, was arrested after police say he repeatedly pushed a woman down to the ground during a domestic dispute at his home on Wilkes Avenue. The victim suffered minor injures. Richards was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and he was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.

6:07 p.m. Monday — No one was injured when a car driven by Nicholas Heath, 39, of Butler struck the back of a minivan on Route 422 east, just before Route 8. Amy MacDonald, 32, of Butler was the other driver. Both vehicles had to be towed and the right lane of Roue 422 east was closed for about 20 minutes. Police cited Heath for following too closely to another vehicle, driving too fast for conditions and careless driving.

Wednesday — Austin J. Covert, 24, of Slippery Rock was charged with having a 9 mm pistol without a permit and suspected marijuana stemming from an arrest for driving under the influence May 12. He is charged with possession of a firearm, a felony. Additionally, he is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, possession of a controlled substance, and five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
