Police: Suspect tried to slip cuffs while in patrol car
Butler police arrested a Philadelphia man Wednesday night on charges he ran from officers and later tried to slip his handcuffs while being taken to the station.
Anthony L. Williams, 30, was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and loitering and prowling at night, and a summary charge of public drunkenness. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond following arraignment.
Police said an officer on vehicle patrol about 10:10 p.m. spotted a man walking in the area of West Brady and North Church streets. The man, later identified as Williams, appeared to be trying to hide himself from police.
