Butler police are investigating what happened to a 31-year-old Summit Township man who was found dead Wednesday night at a creek bed with his young daughter nearby off South Cliff Street. The 3-year-old girl was unharmed.

No foul play is suspected, Butler Detective Lt. Chad Rensel said Thursday. Police did not immediately release the man's name. An autopsy was planned Thursday.

A city couple was preparing to walk their dogs around 9 p.m. when they reported finding the man unresponsive, police said.
